Deconstruction of a past a-level media trailer



Name- Rise Teaser trailer A2 Media

Genre- Teen/urban drama

Mise-en-scene:
- Cigarettes
- Graffiti
- Smoke- slow motion affect of girl exhaling smoke outside.
- Make up- an extreme close up shot of girl applying eye shadow to eye.
- Alcohol- close up shot of a bottle of vodka
- Contraception- teenage issues
- Pregnancy tests- teenage issues
- Drugs (cocaine)- dangerous, troubled, illegal

Locations:
- Underground subway- Two girls running down the middle of the subway, this could be a sign that they are in trouble.
- Supermarket- In this shot they are seen to be buying contraction and pregnancy tests, this represents the common convention of teenage issues.
- Night club- point of view shots are used in the night club, this is effective as it makes the audience feel as if they are in that postion.
- House (party)- This is a common location for teenagers
- Public toilets
- Outside (smoking)

Editing/camera angles :
- Fast editing- This is used to get as much footage as possible in the trailer
- Interference- This affect makes the footage look more distort
- Tracking shot- of the contraception in the supermarket conveying the importance of this issue.
- Flashing black lights- to give a distort image
- Close up shots- snorting cocaine
- Point of view shot- shots of drinking alcohol shows the affect from the point of view shot


Sound:
The whole trailer has the song 'Skinhead' by Kanye west in the background. This music is aimed at young people and the lyrics talk about drugs and violence, this shows that these main issues will be portrayed in the film.
